TEN4: Rule Your World.
There’s something poetic about Juneteenth and Father’s Day falling in the same month.
At first glance, they feel worlds apart.
But when you really sit with it, they represent opposite ends of the same spectrum:
freedom and responsibility.
Juneteenth is about freedom delayed, but eventually realized.
It’s about waking up to the fact that we have been free the whole time.
And that hit me recently.
Because I’ve lived seasons where I was still thinking like I was in chains —
Trying to control everything I couldn’t…
Prove everything to those who don’t matter…
Fix everything that was never broken...
Not realizing: I was already free.
- Free to protect my peace.
- Free to lead my way.
- Free to rule my own world.
Now look at Father’s Day.
That’s the other side of the spectrum: responsibility.
The kind you choose.
The kind real fathers lean into, and not just with presence, but with purpose.
To cover, to provide, to lead.
Being a father isn’t about having kids.
It’s about owning the assignment.
And doing it with consistency, faith, and love.
So here’s the spectrum:
Juneteenth is the awakening.
Father’s Day is the assignment.
Freedom is the start.
Responsibility is the follow-through.
Legacy lives in between.
Lately, I’ve had to remind myself:
You can only control what’s in your hands.
And if you focus on that, and do it well, you’ll be great.
No more chasing what’s not mine to carry.
I’m locked in on what is:
- The product.
- The team.
- The mission.
- The community.
- The future.
I don’t need to rule everything.
I just need to rule my world.
And you just need to rule yours.
Because life is too big to play small.
